At the end of 2018, we conducted civics classes for a group of 15 ladies serving prison sentences at the Warsaw Grochów Detention Centre.
The subject matter supervision was provided by Dr Katarzyna Nawrocka and Dr Anna Zajenkowska from the Academy of Special Pedagogy in Warsaw. The classes were conducted by: a journalist Michał Englehardt (freedom of speech, freedom of media), a journalist Aneta Wawrzyńczak (human rights), dr Katarzyna Nawrocka (social activism, communication, stereotypes, stigmatization, violence) and a guest lawyer dr Jolanta Zozula from the APS. The Oxford debate on stigmatisation in social life was prepared and co-presented by social readaptiation students Iwona Domańska, Daria Kaczmarczyk and Justyna Kuśmierczuk. After each meeting, the participants shared their reflections in the form of posts for the eWKratke.pl blog. We encourage you to read them.
The project „Workshops on civic reflectiveness in women’s prison” was supported by the Civic Fund managed by the Foundation for Poland.
