\u201cPromotion of Reading in Prisons\u201d \u2013 A Pioneering Educational Project in 8 Penitentiary Units in 2025<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPromotion of Reading in Prisons\u201d was<\/strong> our new project, which, for the first time in Poland, simultaneously encompassed<\/strong> eight penitentiary units! Throughout 2025, in cooperation with the Prison Service, experts, actors, and educators, we implemented<\/strong> a structured program aimed at developing reading habits among inmates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through literary workshops, performative reading sessions, special reading corners in prison libraries, and literary broadcasts aired on prison radio networks, we reached<\/strong> over 5,000 individuals serving their sentences in correctional facilities and detention centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where will the project be implemented?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The program will be conducted in eight penitentiary units across Poland<\/strong>:

Warsaw-Groch\u00f3w Detention Center<\/strong>
Warsaw-S\u0142u\u017cewiec Detention Center<\/strong>

Rawicz Prison<\/strong>
Krzywaniec Prison<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project\u00a0ran<\/strong>\u00a0from March 1 to December 31, 2025, including both in-person sessions and remote activities in the form of literary audio programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mgr Justyna \u017barczy\u0144ska<\/strong> \u2013 co-author of the project<\/strong>, art historian, art therapist, curator at the National Museum in Pozna\u0144<\/strong>, author of numerous articles on literature and culture, and creator of the blog „Justyna Czytuje.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
