village<\/em><br \/>\n<em>lived two women, both beautiful<\/em><br \/>\n<em>&#8211; mother and daughter &#8211; left abandoned.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>The widow buried her husband &#8211;<\/em><br \/>\n<em>many years ago.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>And thus alone in this world<\/em><br \/>\n<em>struggles in poverty with her daughter Jana.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Both love each other and stick together.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Her daughter is obedient &#8211; as good as an angel!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Ah, there is a big ruckus in the village &#8211; the Roma,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Roma people with a caravan!<\/em><br \/>\n<em>They&#8217;re preparing a camp on a clearing by the forest.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; Let me out of the house, Mother,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>for the Roma are playing in the village!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>And the pretty maiden ran off to listen to Romani music.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>And the music was so sweet that her heart<\/em><br \/>\n<em>at once overflows with joy and tenderness.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Jana stood and listened, stood and admired,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>until at last her cheeks blushed<\/em><br \/>\n<em>under the hot gaze of the fiddler<\/em><br \/>\n<em>of the charming Roma man.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>She felt his gaze on her, which burned like fire.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Their eyes met and bewitched each other.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>It&#8217;s time to go home.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Let go of my hand, my mother awaits anxiously<\/em><br \/>\n<em>what can I do?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Enchanted by Romani eyes<\/em><br \/>\n<em>could not fall asleep,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>still thinking of the fiddler.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>How beautiful he is, raven hair and such heat in his eyes.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>They met in secret and more and more<\/em><br \/>\n<em>the flame of love flickered in their hearts.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Jana revealed to her mother her deepest secret<\/em><br \/>\n<em>about the forbidden love,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>which she could not renounce.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Even if the whole world was against it,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>there&#8217;s nothing in the world that would give her heart to another.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>There is a stir in the camp as we must move on.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>The horses are being prepared and fires put out.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>But our young man in love<\/em><br \/>\n<em>will not go further, he will stay in the village,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>he&#8217;ll build a forge, become a blacksmith.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The mother of the two in love<\/em><br \/>\n<em>gives her blessing and for the son-in-law prepares a place<\/em><br \/>\n<em>in her home and opens her heart.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>May he be accepted in the village as a brother,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>his musicianship and blacksmithing appreciated.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>My dear friends, this is how it turned out.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Jana and her beloved moved in together.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Wonders were created by his hand in the forge next door.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>All kinds of tools for the farmers in the fields,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>chain, horseshoes, axes.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>His skill had been appreciated in the village.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>and in the evenings, in the moonlight<\/em><br \/>\n<em>the bonfire was lit.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Jana baked potatoes in the fire,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>and her beloved played the fiddle<\/em><br \/>\n<em>romantic notes &#8211; for his Jana.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The stars in the sky were watching them<\/em><br \/>\n<em>and danced merrily in the sky.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Translation: Ada
